    Small-scale or micro businesses are generally exempt from registering with FSSAI, including:

    Petty manufacturers selling their own food

    Hawkers, vendors, and small food stall holders

    Cottage industries or tiny food businesses

    Categories of FSSAI License It offers three types of food licenses based on the size and turnover of your business:

    • Regular license: Applicable to those whose annual turnover does not exceed 12 lakhs.
    • State license: Applicable to those whose annual turnover ranges between 12 lakhs to 20 Cr.
    • Central license: Applicable to those whose annual turnover exceeds ₹20 Crores or those involved in food imports and exports.

    7. The MoA and AoA of the business

    8. For manufacturing units, besides the above-listed documents, the following are also required:

    The blueprint of warehouse, plant, etc.  1) A list of all machinery  2) Report of a water test  3) List of all food categories 

    The validity of the FSSAI food license mostly depends on the type of the license issued:

    • Regular License: Valid for 1 year.
    • State License: Valid for 5 years.
    • Central License: Valid for 5 years.
